David Bayus, Untitled
$100.00
David Bayus' work is centered around a drawing practice that extends from the theatrical to the pataphysical. Using Paul Klee's "taking a line for a walk" quote as a reference point, line is viewed as an anthropomorphised object. Like actors on a stage, he uses this premise to create drawings that move in-between mediums to create a kind of non-locality or hypereality that emulates the hybrid nature of current media practices in commercial entertainment.
David Bayus was born in 1982 in Johnson City, TN. He received his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2010 and a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005. He is a founding member of the BASEMENT Art Collective located in San Francisco's Mission Diistrict.
A new body of work will debut this February 1st. at the LA Art Book Fair with the release of Stroke Vol. 2, an art book published by Colpa Press.
